A good day. Rain tonight. It is badly needed. Ben & Jim stripped tobacco all day and they are at the barn tonight tieing tobacco.

Mr. Owen went to the island for guano. Josie and I got dinner. Kate Harvey eat dinner with us. I was glad to have her with us. Josie walked with her as far as Marvins. Henry and Edna went to school to day, the first day of this term.

Tom Edmons went to South Boston with tobacco this morning. I got a letter from Fannie Emerson. Was glad to get it. I am always glad to hear from any of the folks that is a way from home.

Cloudy most of the day. Rain tonight. The men folks worked on tobacco all day. I worked a round from one thing to another.

Late this evening I went to see Carrie. She was some better of her rheumatism. I hope she may soon be well.

Beatris Owen come in a few minutes to see the little baby.

Henry & Edna went to school to day. Franklin staid at home all day.

Marvin solde his cow today to Mr John Smith.

The boys went to tie tobacco tonight and have not come home yet.

A clear cool day. Ben & Jim stripped tobacco. It was so dry they could not do much at it.

I got dinner. Josie made a box for Beatrice Owen.

Ben and Josie went to Renan a few minutes at twelve. Miss Willie Wooding come a while this evening.

Josie has had the tooth ache all the evening.

Ben & Jim went to the barn to night to tie some tobacco & have not come to the house yet.

A rainy morning. Clear this evening.

Josie cut out a dress this morning & hemed two sheets. I got dinner.

This evening I went to Marvins. Marvin went to Strait Stone to preaching. I come by the barn and tied some tobacco. Josie had supper a bout done when I come to the house.

Ben has gone to Strait Stone to night to and Odd Fellows meeting.

I got a letter from Effie Brumfield today. One from Fanny Emerson yesterday.

A very colde day. Partly cloudy. Jim & Ben hauled in some feed then stripped tobacco for Mr Owen. Tonight they went to Marvins to help tye tobacco. Josie ironed some this morning. We both had a hand in getting dinner. We cooked cabbage & beans and made a crum pudding. I have set by the fire all that I well could. The children went to school. Heard today that Dorothy Worsham has scarlet fever. Mrs Edmons is very sick. Her daughter Mrs Hutcherson went to stay with her. I hope they all will soon be well.
