Sunday, June 8, 1919
A good day. We all staid at home until dinner then Ben & family went to Jim Powers. Jim and I staid at home.
Marvin and family come all but Reese. I certainly was glad that they come.
Josie and I got dinner. We had new Irish potatoes and fried chicken, beets, and chocolate pies.
I stopped Lucius & his wife and had a look at their little daughter. She is a fine child.

Monday, July 14, 1919
A shower this morning. Clear this evening. The men commenced to plow but the rain stoped them.
This evening Ben carried me and Henry & Reese to Cedar Forest. We caught a few fish. Stoped at Strait Stone and got a few things.
Nellie come today. Her & Jim picked black berries all the evening.
Kate come this evening. Ben & Jim went with her home.
Virginia went to Brookneal this morning. She went to Ed Harveys to visit.
Alma Bennett come to Carries yesterday. She is doing some sewing. I want to go and see her soon.

Monday, July 21, 1919
Rain a gain to day. The boys toped some tobacco this morning.
Josie washed some this morning and went to Carries this evening.
I went to see Mag this evening. They were all well. Doris & Fannie had gone to Mrs Kellies. I come by Kates to see Jack but did not see him. Irvin & Jack had gone to Lee Brumfields for some aples.
I started to walk up there. I went by Marvins. Reese wanted to take me and they let him. I am mighty glad that they did as it rained so hard that I could of hardly got home. Cordie & Nettie was at the store.

Wednesday, July 23, 1919
Cloudy most of the day but no rain. Ben went to Strait Stone this evening and got roofing for the barns and ice cream freezer. Owen went some where and got some pigs.
Josie got dinner. I went to Johnson Reynolds. Julia Fergerson was there and Cliftons wife & baby came this evening.
Mollie Reynolds went to see Mrs Hutcherson. She is mighty feeble. Paul Bennett come from Chatham to day. Marvin did not come. Kate went to Strait Stone this evening. Reese Smith carried her. I walked to Reynolds and walke most every where else that I can.
Oh that I could help my self.

A good day. Ben & Jim went to look at a home in Cambell county. Henry & Edna went to Strait Stone with Marvin. Ren Worshams family was at Marvins. There was twenty three children at Marvins, all grand children except two.
Josie got dinner. We all went to Marvins this evening.
All of us at home to night and all reasonable well. For that I want to be thankful.
Marvin & Carrie has gone to Strait Stone to nigh to preaching. Rees is takeing care of the little children. William Gilbert is at the barn close to the house.
