152 Columbia Wash Feb 6th 1/97 Adjourned meeting of the Town council of the Town of Columbia: Mayor C F Reeves presiding; meeting called to order Roll Called and following answered to their names. Osgood, Cameron & Chase councilmen and J A Kelso Clerk. reading of minutes postponed: Street Committee report cost of walk on Winston Street to be about $20.00 and can find no one to take General Fund Warrants for lumber. Council instruct Committee to proceed to lay walk providing private citizens will donate 1/2 of the amt. Ordinance No 68 An Ordinance to amend section No 10 entitled "An ordinance providing for the contesting of elections inthe Town of Columbia and the proceedings therein": was read, duly considered and on motion was passed by unanimous vote. Ordinance No 69 An Ordinance to amend sec 1 of Ordinance No 51 entitled An Ordinance fixing the Bonds and compensation of Officers of said Town of Coulmbia making Bond of Treasurer $1500 was read, duly considered and on motion was passed by a unanimous vote. Bond of C N Groat Marshal was read and on motion & 2d was accepted and ordered filed. On motion Clerk, Treasurer and Attorney were givin until Feb 11th 1/97 to file their several bonds. On motion meeting adjourned to Feb 11th 1/97 approved Mch 1st C F Reeves mayor J A Kelso clerk

154 Bonds of J A Kelso as clerk was read and referred to attorney to examine and report at next meeting: Bond of O A Schade as Town Treasurer read and referred to Attorney to examine and report at next meeting: On motion the Clerk and Attorney were instructed to ascertain the the sale of $4000 Bonds for the purpose of redeeming all outstanding warrants. 157 On motion Water Rent was rebated to a A Hepler for the months Now Dec and January in the sum of $1.50. On motion 1/2 month water rent was rebated to J A Kintzforthe month of Nov. 159 Ordinance No 72 An Ordinance to amend an Ordinance known as Ordinance No 63 fixing the Bond Duties and compensation of Officers so as to make the compensation of Marshal read $10.00 per month was read and on motion was passed. Approved Mayor and attested by the Clerk: On motion Water Committee was authorized to make necessary repairs to reservoir: Clerk reported Notice of Appropriation of Water posted on Reservoir on March 3rd 1897 and filed for record in the Auditor's Office of King County wsh on the 4th day of March 1897: cost of recording 85 cents. On motion Warrants were ordered for officers salaries for the quarter ending April 1st as follows J A Kelso No 192 as clerk $25.00 C N Groat No 193 as marshal 2 months $12.00 W S McCurley No 194 as Attorney $30.00 On motion Council Adjourned to meet on first Monday in May 1/97 at 8 PM Approved May 3rd 1/97 C F Reeves mayor J A Kelso clerk

161 On motioneleven dollars ($11.00) were transferred for the General to Emergency Fund. Emergency fund warrant ordered to J A Kelso for $.85 - for cash paid out. Resignationfo C S Chase was tendered, and on motion the same was accepted. On motion E Voland was nominated to fill vacancy and elected. Resignation of J A Kelso, as clerk was tendered and on motion same was accepted. On motion C S Chase was nominated and elected to fill vacancy of office of Clerk and the oath of office was properly filed. The matter of E A Ziebarth - road petition - was referred to Committee of Streets and Alleys. On motion warrant was ordered for Clerk's salary for the month of April. On motion, meeting adjourned.
