Sunday September 18, 1921
A good day. Earl Bennett staid here all night last night. Ben & family went to Rob Hubbards. Mrs Car went with them.
I staid at home most of the day. Went to Marvins this evening. They had company. Lee & Grace and Mr John Smith & Gallie Burger was there. Reese went to Gretna to meet Jim. All of the children and Hugh Brumfield went. Mr Hargrave was buried today.
Tuesday October 25, 1921
A clear warm day. Not a cloud in sight. The wind is blowing tonight. Jim helped Marvin today. Ben did not. Josie has bin bad off all day. She is not suffering so bad tonight. I hope she will soon be up a gain. Mrs Edmons & Grace Brumfield and Kate Harvey come to see her today. Ben went for Mrs Car this morning. She was gone to Lynchburg. He has gone there after her. They have not got here yet. I am sorry that the wind is blowing so hard. I have not bin to Marvins this week. Hope Josie may be well enough that I can go soon. Henry & Edna went to school to day. Mabel has bin good for her.
I started Alma Bennett a letter today. Would be glad to hear from Willies folks.
Wednesday October 26, 1921
A partly cloudy day. No rain. Jim went with Marvin to sow wheat. Ben staid here. Ben & Mrs Car & Ella got here last night about ten. Josie is much better off to night. Ben carried Mrs Hubbard home this evening. Denia come a while & Kate Harvey come a while. They walked a way togather.
I went to Marvins a few minutes this evening. Carrie is looking bad.
Sunday October 30, 1921
A rainy day. The firs day that it has rained for a long time. I am glad it has rained for we needed it so bad.
We all staid at home to day except I went to Marvins a few minutes. They were all getting on well. There was to be preaching at Strait Stone. Marvin went to meet the professor and they were going togather. Mrs Car was with us to day. I am glad to have her any time she will come.
Tuesday November 1, 1921
A cloudy day. No rain today. The land is good we for the first time in a bout five months.
The boys stripped tobacco. They finished a cureing for Jim.
Ben has bin complaining all day of head ache.
Marvin went to Gretna with tobacco. It solde very well. The children went to school. I killed and dressed an opossome. The first one that I ever killed.
Josie helped move a cureing of tobacco. Mrs Car shelled peas. We sent to Otho Blairs and got two pounds of butter. Paid 35 cts a pound. That is the first that we have bought this year.
This writing was done at three oclock Nov the 2nd. I forgot to write last night.
