Thursday the 23 thd
Began with fresh breezes from E [illegible]
and rain. Handed our fore sail.
Middle experienced a tremendrious [tremendous?]
gale from the Sth. Latter part
the gale rather a bated. At 2 /
oclok [o'clock] PM squared our yards.
Steered of E [N?] E at sun set set
the fore sail and top sail and started
the fires. So goes. Nothing more
occured [occurred]. Lat obsd 37:00 Long 14:40

Friday the 24th
The day began with strong winds
SSW. Ship under short sail.
Steering E by Nth. Middle and
latter part light breezes. Set
all sail. At 2 PM made Tristran
[illegible] Ohuna [Ohana?] bearing SE distance 50
miles. This day employed stowing
down and boiling. Saw nothing
worth remarks. So remains.
