Ship Daniel Webster Twards the Western Remarks on board Tuesday Aug the 27 AD 1833 The first part of these 24 hours we have a fine breese from W at 2 PM all hands on board at 3 got under way and stood out the Harbor at 6 past Gardners point at 7 stowed the chains away at 8 Montauck point bore WNW distance7 miles from which I take my departure Middle and Latter parts a strong breese and heavy weather Employes at stowinga way our vegitables and sundry other jobs. Nothing more worthy of remark so ends the day. Lat by Obs vation 40.01 Long 69.35 by chron[ometer]

Remarks on board Wednesday Aug the 28 The first part of these 24 hours we have a strong breese from SW with [harey] weather at 8 PM the weather having a squally appearence took in the topgallant sails and reeft the topsail Middle part the wind from west Employed at brakeing out in the stearage and putting things to rights and fitting boats and sundry other jobs nothing more worthy of remarks so end the day Lat by Ob vation 29.10 Long 67.15

Remaeks on board Saturday the 31 AD 18[33] The first part of these 24 hours we have a strong breese from NW at 2 PM furled fore and main top gallant sails at 7 set them again at 2 AM set the fore topmast studing sail at 6 the wind very light at 11 calm employed at fitting boats and bending the fore and main spencers nothing remarkable occurs 3 men off duty so ends the day Lat by observation 39.07 Long 58.39 West

Towards The Western Islands AD 1833 Remarks on board Tuesay Sep 3 AD 1833 The first part of these 24 hours we have a strong breese north thick raining weather at 4 PM the wind more moderate shook the reef out of the topsails at 6 a light breese from NB by W Middle part and latter parts moderate breeses with harey weather employed at fitting boats and sundry other jobs about the rigging nothing more worthy of remark so ends the day 3 men off duty Lat by observation 39.20 Long 49.30

Ship Daniel Webster from Sag Harbor Remarks on board Saturday Sept the 7 AD 1833 The first part of these 24 hours we have a moderate breese and pleasant weather a stearing East the wind WSW at 8 PM the weather having a squally apearance took in the fore studing sail and Main royal Middle part a fresh breese and harey weather at 5 AM the weather more moderate set the studing sail again and royal latter part a freash breese and pleasant weather at 9 got [alunor] mai[n] the longitude 38,14 long by chronometer at the sam[e] time was 38.55 Lat by obvervation 39.15 Long 38.00

Remarks o board Sunday Sept the 8 First 24 hours commence with a fresh breese from SW by W and pleasant weather Middle part much the same at 7 AM saw 3 spurm wha[les] forced and chast but could not get near them went on board again Nothing more remarkable occurs so ends the day Lat by Ob [tation] 39.26 Long long by lunor at 10 AM 34.29 by chro at the same time
