from a surrop take old pitch pine roots dugout of the earth that is fat split pine boil them in stirring water scim of the pitch and take the water from your surrop take pette morreff sasepherilla bull brake roots madenhair brook liver wont elder roots stir freely Elm Barke wild sullendine put gin or westindarum in to it to preserve the surrop drink of the surrop five times a day

For a cold surrop take brook lime and water creses of eaqel quantity pound them in a morter and ring out the juice scald and scim it and sweeten it with new honey take a table of spoonful at a time 3 times a day

Take Conserve of red roses, Conserve of maregold flowres, Conserve of gill flowres, London [?] ana ℥ij [mit?] Ʒiij mirrhe ℥/8 powder of Angellica, Turmentill, [?] albi ana ℥i fine gold in powder ℥/8 n's as much Syrup of Viniger as is sufficient to make it an Electuary The dose is a quantity of a small nut [fasyng?] & drink a draught of beere made [damaged]

Take Roman wormwood ana m Juniper berrys ℥i Shred and bruise them grossely [?] [?] [?] on 2 quartes of [?] [?] beere & staund 12 [?] or more before you use it

To make Balsom / Lucatilla

Take a pint of Sallett oyle a qter of a pound of yellow waxe slice it small, and putt it wth the oyle into a skillit or pipkin then take one handfull of rosemary, [asumoh?] [?], & [asumoh?] [?], & [asumoh?] Bayes one oz of Sanders and putt them to the oyle and wax, then sett them on a gently fier, and stirr them with a stick and lett them boyle up three tymes, then streyne them thorough a cloathe, Then take foure oz of [E?], and two oz of storax liquida, and washe them in 4 or 5 [thea?] water then take some rose water, & some plantaine water & washe them twice therein, then sett the Balsom ovre the fyer, and let them allmost boyle the take it of and putt therto the the storax liquida and venice Turpentine, then take one oz of sanguis [Iratoms?] and half an oz of Mummy, and putt them in by degrees, and stur them well together, and let it boyle well, then streyne them thorough a cloathe, then lett it coole, then sett it on the fire againe, and when it is well melted take it of, and putt therto two oz of oyle of [Exevikin?] wth one oz of Balfoure and stur them well together: finis

The vitue of this balme being taken every morning vi dropes in a spoonefull of wine it precereth on frome poyson all soe it preserves a man from corrupt and poyson ayre and especially to be used in time of ye plage or pestilentes and for on ye is bruised in any parte let them straygh way anoynt the place and it shall assuage the swelling of it and take away the blacke and it is good for the stich in the side being anoyned and vi dropes put in to a fistila every daye doth heale it and it heall all windi sores ould ulceres and for the palsi let the party vi dropes morning and eving in four spoon fulles of win probatum este
