Dearest Miss Green,
Which I'll always call you that. I do hope you, Mr. Ralph, and my two children are in the best of health. I arrived home safe and sound and all my family was so happy that for awhile no one said anything. Just sat and cried. It's such a wonderful feeling being home again. I haven't been anywhere as yet. I'm doing a little days work. I want to do day work for about another week, and then I want a steady job. My first couple of nights home, I couldn't sleep, and believe me, so I miss Susan and Ralphie. Give them a great big kiss and hug for me. Tell Susan not to forget what I told her

about looking out and help to dress little Ralphie, also tell her I want all good reports. I wrote asking about permission, but expect a answer this week. I want to spend the 28th with them, which is my birthday. Miss Ely was by to see me, but I was out shopping with my aunt. We missed her about ten minutes. How is Dr.? Give her my love and tell her I'll write her real soon and thanks for everything. Give the house girls my love, especially Cheesie, I also send love to Ann [Marky?], also Miss Gladding. I hope my kitten is well, and do hope I can bring it home soon. I miss you all very very much and do hope I'll see you soon. Tell Susan and Ralphie to write me soon, also I'll send them a picture soon. Love to everyone. To a dear friend.
Sincerely Doris [Dixon]
