Reformatory for Women Dec 3 - 1947 Framingham [circular date stamp]

Dear Dr Van Waters

Just a few lines to let you know that I am fine and hope you are the same.

The weather around here is very cold, and we had some Sunday.

There isn't much news to tell, except I've been going to the movies with my brother and his wife and I go to church every Sunday with the children and after church the children go to Sunday school.

We had a very nice Thanksgiving day over here, there was a football game, but I didn't go my brother and I listened to it

Dear Jeannette:

Your letter was most enjoyable and I am glad to know you had a pleasant holiday season.

Do you have much snow? We have had a great deal of it and may be in for more.

The Literary Group is very busily engaged these days. We are planning to present "The Devil and Daniel Webster" and are looking forward to much work.

With every good wish for the New Year -

Sincerely yours,

Miriam Van Waters

File Indenture (my case)

Dec. 18, 1947 Corner 3rd + L Turners Falls

Dear Dr. Van Waters

Just a few lines to let you know, that I am fine and hope you are the same.

I've been Christmas shopping all week with my brother and his wife and I'm not quite done yet. I have to wait till my brother pays me because I ran out of money everything is so high, that it doesn't take long to spend the money you sent me.

I've only got about eight more gifts to buy.

We've had quite a bit of snow, I think we'll have a white Christmas, if it keeps snowing.

Dr. have I got any more money coming to me, or did you send it all to me when you sent me that check. If I have some more could you send it to me by next week.

My brother's wife hasn't been feeling very well, her teeth keep bothering her. I think she will have to have them all pulled out.

All the children are well, and they are in a hurry for Christmas. The baby is just learning how to talk and he sound very nice.

Well I guess I will close for now, and hope to hear from you soon.

Is it alright to write to you once a month now, like you told me or do you still want

me to write every week.

So please answer and let me know.

Respectfully yours Jeannette Dube
