Sore Mouth 3 drams of Borax, 2 drams of sugar of ledd, 1/2 oz alum, 1 pt vinegar, 1 pt sage tea Shake all well & rinse the mouth out every 3 hours through the day

Bots (cure) 1/2 gallon Tansa or sage tea add 1 oz alum, drench with half of it. if not better in thirty minutes give the rest,, in six hours give a mild fisic. this will never fail if given in time

Colic 1/2 oz laudnum 1 " Sulphuric ether 1/2 pt warm water 8oz drench & if not better in 30 or 40 minutes repeat the dose

Founder Bleed from the neck vein 3 or 4 gallons of if very bad, until he falls, then give 1/2 oz aloes 4 drams gamboge 1/2 oz oil sassafras make this in a [crossed out ball] pill & give it, then give all the sassafras tea he will drink. turn up his feet & fill them full of hot lard bath his legs in hot water & rub them dry

General Liniment 1/2 pt turpentine 1/2 pt alcohol 1/2 " linseed oil 4 oz aqua ammonia 1 " tincture iodine Shake well & it is ready for use.

Iodine Ointment 1 oz iodine 1 pt alcohol let it stand in the sun twoday & this is the tincture of Iodine. Take 2oz of tincture to 1/2 lb of lard Mix well & you will have the Ointment

Liquid Blister take 1/2 pt alcohol 1/2 pt turpentine 4 oz of aquammonia 1 oz of Origanum. Apply this every 3 hours until it Blisters. Do not repeat oftener than 7 or 8 days

Spavin & Ringbone Recipe 2 oz cantharides 4 " Mercurial Ointment 3 drams corrosive subliment 3 oz turpentine 2 oz tincture iodine 1/2 " gum euphorbium Mix well with 2 lbs lard. if for ringbones or bone spavin cut off the hair from the part affected & merely grease the lump with the Ointment. Rub it in well with the naked hand, in two days grease with lard & in 4 days wash it off with soap & water & apply the ointment again. So repeat it every 4 days If for wind galls or bog spavin apply every 6 days

Johnsons Liniment 2 oz Oil of Oreganum 1/2 pt alcohol 1/2 oz Turpentine 1 oz 1/2 " Oil of ceder 1" 1/2" Oil of cloves 2 " Oil Olive 2 oz Shake all well This is used for almost all complaints of the muscles

Opodeldoc 1/2 gallon alcohol 2 lbs castile soap 4 oz gum camphor 2 oz oil amber; place the alcohol in a pot of hot water, shave the soap & keep it hot until all desolved & you have the Old Opodeloc 2 pts alcohol 1 lb castil soap 1 oz gum camphor 1/2 oz oil amber
