Ratafia Drops
Beat one pound of Apricot kernels, or half bitter
and half sweet Almonds, with Rose-water; put in one
pound of sifted Sugar and the whites of five Eggs beat to
a froth, set it on a slow fire and stir it till it begins to
be stiff: when cold, make it into little round drops, and
bake them on wafer paper on tin plates.

Small Cakes
Rub one pound of Butter into two pounds of
Flour, put to it one pound of Sugar, one ounce of Carraway
seeds and four Eggs; work it into a paste and cut it out
with the top of the dredging box; bake them on tin plates
in a moderate oven. Currants instead of Carraway may be used;
half a pound of Currants - and some Nutmeg. Ice them.
