Yuba City Cal. Sep. 17th 1864

We the undersigned disinterested persons
do certify on honor, that we are personally
known to the fact of Geo M. Hanson Late Deputy
Agt. Ind. Affs. N. Dist Cal. having had shafts
& tongs [tongues] made & attached to a Buggy belong
ing to the United States, And that said Buggy
Harness & two horses were taken away from
our livery Stable in the month of October or
november 1863 by Elijah Steele successor to
said Hanson without having left any
receipt for the same
