Col H & take the cattle in charge [illegivle] that
notice of my removal had reached me on the
way to accomplish that object and as it could
require some considerable expenses & trouble that
I did not but wanted in incurring under
the circumstances, that I had [illegible} Col H
to postpone the delivery until Mr Wiley should
come in to take charge of the affairs of the department
& that Col Henley writes me to say to
him [illegible] that he was ready & anxious as
he had been at all times as it was a heavy
expense to him to take care of them -- to deliver the
cattle & wished him to come & get or send for them
Mr Wiley seemed to think or so impressed my mind
that he would not [illegible] with them but he an Col
H to settle with teh departmenet [illegible] Col Henley also
inform me that he had tended the cattle to
Mr Hanson frequently but he could get no one to take
them. Col H showed no dispositon to avoid [illegible]
up the property but on the [illegible] as soon as he
learned of my appointment he came a from [illegble]
territory his them [illegible] to deliver to me
