State of Nevada County of [Name] [illegible] On the second day of September 1865 before me personally appeared Adam Johnston, late sub agent in California, to me known who being duly sworn did [illegible] and say that the items above enumerated are charges in his accounts with the Government for articles purchased for Indian presents under his instructions during his term of three year services from April 13, 1849 to April 13, 1852 _ that the same were distributed in such quantities form time to time as in his judgement was proper _ and that the total expenditures during his three years service for Indian presents is _ $513.75 including transportation as above stated Subscribed [Name] on this 2nd day of Sept [date] 1865 [Name] Blake Notary Public
