and such property as may be [wanted?] for use on the Reservation and shall as [illegible?] in your letter, endeavor to effect and adjustment at an early day. It was my purpose on my return from Tule River Farm Reservation which was on the 18th inst. [illegible?] made a report to your office of the condition of affairs in [my?] Superintendency but as the late Supt Wiley has not completed a [illegible?] of the property I have thought it adviable to defer my report until I shall have visited the different Reservation in company with the Hon Wm [William] Higby I would [illegible?] state in this connection that I found the condition of the Indians on the different Reservations generally [satisfactory?] they are [illegible?] [illegible?] and [will?] satisfied with their [illegible?] locations and the indications of the [illegible?] crops are such that I believe a sufficient amount of [grain?] and regretable will be [illegible?] [illegible?] the Indians [illegible?] and that may be placed on the Reservations during the present year.
