9 AM took in Royals + Miz. T Gal sail. Fine clear
weather. At 6 PM wind hauled more to North
+ increases. Checked in the yards + handed
T. Gal Sails - put two reefs in Topsails. Very
strong gales. Course W.S.W Through night same
with cold weather

Begins with strong gales from N. W.
At 11 AM Shook reefs from Topsails - Set Fore
+ Main T Gal sails. At Meridian spoke two
or three Charleston Pilots. Made land off
Charleston at 10 AM. At 6 PM set Royals
Night fine light breeze
7 Days out

Saturday Oct 22
Fine warm weather with all
sail set. At 2 Am made Light ship off
