1836 Plenty of wood at 8.50 much is wanted but the want of money prevents the sale. Corn from 1$ to 1.15. Flour 11.25, Sperm Oil in crude state 90 cts. Candle 3. The U.S. Treasury in momey amonts to 45,000,000$. Congress is now in session it is said the surplus more than is wanted for the expenditures of Government will be divided among the State, which if carried into effect will increase the circulation to the advantage of the community.

14.12 This morning at about 3 o'clock, the wind blew at SW tremendously for an hour with some rain. After the morning the sun shone very pleasantly. Afterwards a very stong wing at WNW.

19th & 20th Very low tides which it is said denotes moderate still weather.

21st A hard Easterly rain storm, which proves that signs will not always answer.

29.12 Some rain in the forefront of the day, the latter very cold, the cold increased until 9 o'clock in the morning, at which time the thermometer stood at 7 1/2 above zero which was the coldest weather this season. It arose during the day. The harbor was nearly covered with ice.

31st Thermometer at 16. The ice made out nearly to the Bar, the weather very cold and chilly.

1st 1 mo 1837 Cold drizzly weather. In the afternoon & evening very wet & rainy Wind SSE. Harbor full of ice.
