1: Light S. East to N. West wind these 24 hours with light fog showers most of 24 hours - Sea is smooth - General duties for the day - 2nd asst went to Newport after the mail to see if he could get a letter from his wife - 2nd asst also painted his kitchen floor - Keeper went to Newport on important business and after supplies - Left the station at 9:45 A.M.
2: Light variable winds with fair dry and cool weather these 24 hours - Sea smooth - 1st asst went fishing today. Keeper returned to the station at 11:45 - 2nd asst went to Newport to see if he could hear from his family - Left the station at 11:45 P.M. [illegible text on left margin]
3: Light North to N.W. wind clear fine and cool weather these 24 hours - Sea very smooth - General duties for the day - U.S. Light-House Tender Manzanita crossed in over Yaquina bar at 7:15 A.M. today having come from the South - The barometer 30.20 today - 2nd asst James B. Herman returned to the station at 10:45 A.M.
