The Chairman from the Committee on Licenses brought
up a report (Number 479 Book F) which was read.
A communication from James Agnew City Solicitor was here
read. In the matter of licensing shops to where tobacco, cigars
or cigarettes are sold by retail.
On motion of Ald. Swift seconded by Ald. Shannon
Ordered, that the department of the Committee on Licenses
be received and adopted.
The Chairman from the Committee for City Property
brought up a Report (Number 480 Book F) which was read
and adopted.

On motion the Council adjourned

A Special Motion of the Council of the Corporation of the
City of Kingston was held this day. Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Drennan, Downing, Gildersleeve, Harty,
Hiscock, Muckleston, Swift, Redden, Rees,
C. Robinson, W. Robinson, Shannon, Snowden,
Thompson, Wilson

The Mayor stated the meeting was called to consider
the Report of the Select Committee on Water Works, also
to extend time for collecting percentage on the taxes and
also general business.
On motion of Alderman Gildersleeve seconded by Alderman Thompson.

Ordered, that the percentage payable on the taxes
for October be remitted and the Collector is hereby authorized to receive the taxes without exacting such percentage.

Alderman Gildersleeve Chairman of the Select Committee
on Water Works brought up a report (Number 481 Book F)
which was read and adopted.

asking to be allowed to occupy a part of the cricket field
for a skating rink and toboggan slide. Referred to the
Committee on City Property.
