The Ash Shoot 71
The Ash Shoot is to be unshipped and stowed away at the following times.
A.M. 9.30 until 11.30 P.M. 1.30 " 4.0
On Friday forenoon it is to be kept shipped till after dinner
The Port shoot is always to be used in harbour.
The lee one at Sea
The Forecastle men will attend to the shoot.
it is to be washed down and the deck dried up directly the lower deck is finished.
Should the shoot be specially required at other times, except for ashes, permission is to be obtained from the executive Officer
All coals required are to be got up before the decks are finished washing down in the morning Also in harbour. All ashes sweepings of tubes xc. If not practicable the deck around the shoot is to be scrubbed by the Stokers when finished.

When getting up Ashes that gangway is to be closed.
All dirty work such as yellow washing, scraping funnel casing & is to be done on a Thursday Afternoon.
At Sea, the Ashes are to be got up at seven bells in each watch
When going to sea the outside shoot is always to be unshipped.

74 Bath Rooms. Wash Houses.
Men mefsing the Starboard side of the lower deck the Officers Steward and the Ships Cook will use the Starboard head and wash house.
Men mefsing the Port side of the lower deck the cooks mate and servants will use the Port Head and Washouse.
The chief Petty Officers will use the port main deck W.C.
The Officers will use the starbd Maindeck W.C.
The Heads and wash-houses to be in charge of the Forecastle men.
The Main deck W.C. and Bath rooms to be in charge of Quarter deck men.
The Port Main deck bath room is for the use of the Ships company.
The Boys are to have the use of the port room every Friday evening
The Starboard Main deck bath room is for the use of the Officers. The wash houses are to be locked between hours of 9.30 - 11.30 AM 1.30 - 4.0 PM except on Friday forenoon when they are to be

kept open till after dinner.
The Heads are to be washed down at the following times
1st...When the watch or both watches fall in in the morning.
2nd...Before Divisions, if no divisions then before 9.00 A.M.
3...At clear up decks. Am
4...At clear up decks. P.M.
5...Before the rounds. And in the Hot weather as frequent ly as required.

The Ships company are to be supplied with hot water from the Galley for the pur poses of washing at the following times.
1st...After Breakfast at 7.30. AM
2nd After dinner at 12.30 P.M.
3rd After Supper at 4.30 P.M.
At no other time can they be supplied with hot water unlefs it is convenient to the Ships Cook to give it to them.
