Warant issued By W.M. Hammond on this on the 23rd Sept 1860 Returnable before C.H. Elliott Justice of the Peace Return Executed by answer said John W. Flory bfore me on the 24th Sept 1860 after Hearing the Evidence I Bound him to appear at the next Circuit crt this 25 th Sept 1860 in a Bond of one{ Issing Warrant 55 Thousand Dollars,{ SW 50 Taking Bond 50 Issing & Supeona 15 45 Serving & " 2/ 75 $ 2,75

State of Alabama} Shelby County}

An inquisition intiated later at the grave yard Near Harpersville in said county the 28th day of Sept 1860 before me W M Hannah Special Coroner for said County upon the openthe raising the body of Charles a negro boy belonging to Edward Florey. then and there lying dead and upon oaths John M Mickle. John W Kidd Wyatt Beville JW Ritehell Geo W Mattison & He W Burton good and and lawful men of the County of Shelby aforesaid, Who being charges and swornto inquire for the State of Alabama When Where how and after what manner the Said Charles come to his death upon their oath say and present, that upon raising the body from the grave where it had it had been buried on Friday the 21st Sept who found the body covered with wounds and bruises inflicted they suppose with a stick on the face and head, and one wound on the right shoulder_ supposed to be with a ball and on cutting on his breast at the top of the breast bone found a continuation of the same wound his back from his shoulders down his buttock has been whipped with a paddle carry or Strap the skin nearly all off his legs also body bruised and cut & e and so the jurors aforesaid upon their oaths aforesaid say that they believe from the circumstances of the death and burial of said boythat the aforesaid wounds and bruises was inflicted by john W Florey of Shelby County Ala at his at or near House_ Who then upon the aforesaid Charles_
