THURSDAY 13
Borrowed £1 from Gregg
Sent telegram to Marie Mater
Transport moored in about 7 am. Victorians & Tasmanians disembarked at 10am. Bill & me [?] we were granted leave to go ashore went straight to Melbourne where we had a good dinner & had general look around before returning we bought up a good supply of cakes, chocs, smokes etc.
Leave again granted at 5pm so we dressed & wemt straight into Melbourne again, went out to St Kilda returned

FRIDAY 14
Owing to yesterdays outing did not turn out until very late. During the morning we changed mess decks, went down to 43 mess. Rumours afloat that we would be going by train owing to the difficulty of obtaining coal for the transport. At last we publled out at noon & commenced our final sea run to Sydney.
