3 this park never has received any other drainage except the natural surface drainage and needs a system of proper surface and pipe drainage. This subject was urged by us last year. When the question of economy determined the postponement of such an undertaking It is however deemed proper at this time again to recommend it though the reason for economy had become still more urgent. 4 The property owners fronting in the water front evidently do not deem any action on their part necessary in protecting their land from slidding into the Bay taking with it the lower part of this park and preventing the Department of doing anything to save the property. The property owners fronting on Olympia Avenue have not yet made my report relative to Parking said Avenue in harmony with Kinnear Park Denny Park, This park had the weeds cut down a number of large shrubs saved on the nursery clearing could be located upon this park and become established provided a definate plan of improvement is determined upon no report made to us was yet from the neighboring property owners. 4

City Park The clearing for additional nursery room developed more stumps for extraction than was anticipated yet the progress of the work with the limited force is satisfactory, about 3&1/2 acres are now ready for the plough and 2&1/2 acres ready to be burned logged and stumped. Valuable native trees and shrubs are saved for replanting while the permanent portions of the natural growth has not been injured by the fires necessary in clearing the good wood is being saved for greenhouse use. The Nursery work was such as the season of the year demands. Effort will be made as the work in this department moreas to put the nursery into such condition that its care and maintenance can largely be done by horsepower. 5
