Cousin Ellen's was the only volunteer article -
she read us a novel idea for training
the tomatoe vines - rather complicated
to explain on paper, but she expects to try
the experiment, & likely we will see the
good results later.

There were many questions with satisfactory
answers.

We were told not to cut down the shrubbery
that has suffered from the frost, best to
give it a chance, as it may recover.

Box-bushes are started from cuttings,
they should be kept very wet.

Raw carrots can be [cup?] up & used as
a radish, some use it as a salad, & some
others who have nothing else to eat, use it
grated & eat before breakfast. They are
considered very nutritious.

Good roses can be gotten from [Grays?],
[Dreers?], or Boddington N.Y. This is the
time to send for them.

There is a hole in the ground at The Cedars
where a tree was dug up - They want to
plant something in its place - if every
shrub & plant & small tree is planted
that was suggested, there will be a
regular nursery in full view at the
