VIII Retreat
A long discussion ensued concerning the possibility of a retreat for Chicanos to discuss the situation at Stanford. (formulate policies, ideas, etc.)
Comments of discussion - Is there a need for a retreat? What will the retreat accomplish?
There is an elitist attitude of the retreat. The retreat is a bribe or a reward for people to go. The retreat should be opened up for everyone. The freshmen should be involved. Suggestion: Oct only freshman to go, no present members of MEChA. (Celso)
It was decided to have Carlos Jackson explain more thoroughly the purpose of the retreat. on Wed night at the meeting.
