Cinco de Mayo May 2-8 parade - May 2, Sunday from MemChu to E.P.A. Jamaica-Ravenswood Recreational Center 11-12-Mass Charros, Teatro, etc.

During the week - different things, etc. Saturday - dance

endorse anti-discriminatory practice - brought up agast. Amarco by Jewish student

Hector Chacon will go speak to La Raza Unida - date not yet set

Work Study - Cinco de Mayo work will be reimbursed - Forms are available for work-study assessments

Pre-Law mtg - Wednesday (next)

Elections - between Hector and Melanie defaulted - Melanie Overdain wins

Miquitzli articles due by end of next week.

MEChA is support speaker on New Mexico raids.

Group to go to Senate to oppose recent funding w/ Eddie Sosa Elena Rios, et al

April 23 - Friday 4:00 meeting w/ Fd Shaw concerning cultural center

MEChA meeting 4-25-76

Committee for Wed. refreshments - Cultural Program at Cubberly - no refreshments - as decided

Thursday Community Mtg. - make a flyer - no flyer was decided

Graduation worked out budget food - look into catering + barbecue tickets - possible $1.00 each + (for first 10) and more after

Cultural Center - several students spoke w/ Ed Shaw possible by summer of /77 to have a house at Mariposa or Rodgers. Pending on several people who need to move in because of remodeling of apts. or a research group. But are close to top of list. (Top priority on Mariposa) - Possible Mexican studies theme house

Cinco de Mayo - individuals are responsible for his/her own booth - Jamaica schedule is not yet set. Transportation - hourly, 6:30 - 10 Vans List of Activities (program) will be out Tuesday along with Celsols flyer. Passed out at Roble J. Villabos + Flo Mo - M. Vasquez etc.

Parade - next Saturday 10 - 2 w/ Bicentennial Parade (maps have been passed out) can produce some political message If we are too radical, it may reflect on E.P.A group, Latino contig. talk w/ other groups (Blacks, etc.)

Sub Committee on Minority Affairs + Student Services Task force would scrutinze admissions - committee (possibility) + status of Stanford minorities

Friday night - decorating cars 5:30 - Zapata parking lot. Celso volunteered a case.

Chicana conference workshops set + speakers committed need a little help $4000 budget $2200 so far.

MEChA meeting 2/22/76

Approved an increase of $50 for Scientist + Engineers w/ knowledge that Cinco de Mayo funding would be probably be a maximum of $350. so new Budget Pre-Med - 125 Pre-Law - 100 Sci. + Eng - 100 Ch. Colectiva - 50 Ch. Press - 150 Barrio Asst. - 125 $650 - total

Report Work Study Comm. next week will evaluate work-study positions. discussion on whether Alex McSweya needed a position. if so, give it to him. if not, que sea para otro (maybe Scientists + Eng.) possibly divide position into two - Cinco de Mayo Coord. - Scientists + Eng. Coord. Mickey Ramos asked for evaluation from each position He will hand out a form next MEChA mtg.

Retreat - try to get funding for off-campus retreat 5-10 different locations if this is unfeasible, then on-campus alternative Committee: Melanie Orendain Angie Briones Debbie Reed Sylvia Coral
