When any stranger comes to the gates the officer or non Commissioned Officer who commands the guard to send a Corporal with him to the Town Mayor who is to report the same immediately to the Governor - - 12th The Artillery to acquaint the Officer to the main gud when any salute is to be fired, & when the Colours of the Garrison are to be hoisted & for what reason; the Officer of the main Gaurd is always to be acquainted when the Artillery go out to practice to prevent his being

being alarmed at the firing-Art.13th Any Centinel that is seen sitting on his post, or quitting it on any pretence whatever will be punished severely for neglect of duty.- - 14th Black People who have a suspicious appearance to be strictly examined at the Gate & if the Officer sees cause, he is to send them to the Captain of the main Guard, who will report it accordingly. The Centries on the Fortifications are to prevent Strangers from walking upon them, unless in Company with an Officer of the Garrison & no black peoples except those employed on the Works are to be allowed to come upon them at any Time or on any pretence what soever. - - 15th The Centries on the Works are to allow Soldiers of the Garrison
