A good day. Ben went to Renan to try and get a horse to plow a few days. Did not get it. Josie went to Carries this morning and bathed the baby. After dinner Ben and Josie went to Strait Stone.
Children and I went to Carries. I replanted potatoes. Planted some gourd seed yesterday. Owen went to the mill to day.

Monday, May 20, 1918
A good day. Ben and Paul worked on tobacco land.
I got dinner and churned. Put ashes on the potatoes this evening. Went to Carries a few minutes this evening.
Josie made her silk waist to day. The preacher come to see Paul this morning.

Thursday, May 23, 1918
A good day. Ben went to Stevin Davis s to day and got a sack of ferterlizer. Finished Pauls tobacco land. He plowed in the garden and planted corn in the bottom. Josie and I planted pea nuts. I planted some Irish potatoes. Josie got dinner. Alma Bennett made Edna a dress this evening.
Ben carried Alma to Johnson Reynolds to night. Paul and Henry and Josie all went. I washed dishes while they were gone.

Saturday, May 25, 1918
A good morning. Rain this evening.
The menfolks planted tobacco all day. Mr Dews helped them this evening.
I went to Blairs this morning and got potatoe slips. Mrs Owen and I drawed plants part of the day.
Josie ironed this morning and churned and got dinner.
Kate Harvey solde her cow to day we guess. She passed here some one driving her.

Monday, May 27, 1918
A good day.
Ben and Owen and Paul planted tobacco. Mrs Owen and I drawed plants. Josie got dinner. In the evening Josie went to the plant bed. I planted some potatoe slips.
There was a lot of hard thunder this evening but no rain. Kate Harvey come a while this evening.
