JOHN T. MONTGOMERY, CITY SECRETARY J. W. ESTES, ASSISTANT.

City of Fort Worth. OFFICE OF CITY SECRETARY.

Fort Worth, Texas July 23 1900

Hon. Mayor & Board of Aldermen

Gentlemen

Your petitioner would represent that she is a widow, a poor woman who earns a living by sewing at small wages and that she is the owner of lots 19 block 14 Union Depot Addition, and that she was under the impression all her taxes were paid, but she has just been informed that there are back taxes against her amounting to $32.35. She is unable to pay all this amount at one time, and would ask your honorable body to allow her to pay $5 per month until the whole amount is liquidated. If this priviledge is not accorded her she will have to lose her property. She would also state that for one year she paid her taxes, she was charged and paid $1.00 Bale tax when her husband had been dead for many years.
