For a Sore Throat

Take 12 ounces of saltpeter poudered vere fine. Put it into a cruseble. Set it in a chafing dish of coals. When it is melted put in by litle & litle a tow peney wait of powder bleu a tow peney wait of sulpher, keep sturing it with a hot wier then put in tow peney wait more of sulpher to clear it. Then heat a a bellmetle scilet and pour it into it. Let it stand to be cold. So keep it for use; take a bit as big as a peea and swalow your spitle.

Milk Punch

Take a gallon of brandy five quarts of water, two dozen of lemons, two pound of fine sugar, three pints of milk. Pare the lemons very thin & lay the peels to steep in {the} brandy over night. Squeeze the lemons on the sugar then put in the water & brandy. Boil the milk & put it in boiling hot, let it stand twenty four hours then strain it thro' a jelly bag till it looks clear.

One handfull of Rue a handfull of Bay. Salt boo Anchova too new laid eggs. A bitt of chalk a little sore beat all these togather in a stone Novber very fine nut in as much Rye flower as will mask it into a Paist; Spread it upon double brown neyer half an inch thick lay them to the soles of the feett warm and shift them every twelve hours when you take them of throw them into a pale of water

Take on owned of [?] pour Champaigne and Eler flowers soulders of sack. A quarter of an ounce. Bake [?] in now milk for the longe janes of a [?]. Take a half an ounce of oypredryl of mask [?] and our dream of [?] Doctor Coalsworth
