Dearest Miriam, Its awful -- the way i take so long to answer you letters which i love so much.

i rec'd yours of 29 November and i hope the meeting you went to, at Clark University, was a pleasant event.

The 15th is almost here and i pray that you and your quests will have a rewarding visit to Concord. And i know that Jim will sit down that same night or the following morning and write a full report to me.

II

i rec'd a nice letter from my attorney today and he is pleased with the fact that we have an "indefinite stay" because as he says, "now, at least on a procedural basis, I am not confronted with a tremendous 'crash [program?]' which as you understand makes my operation extremely difficult! so that is something.

Please, through Mr. & Mrs. Ehrmann's neice, extend my Very Warmest Regards and Best Wishes for the Season -- All my Love Always John

Sunday Eve. Jan. 2, 1966

Dearest Miriam, Your very beautiful letter of Christmas day was speedily delivered and it absolutely made my Holiday Season complete.

I certainly was glad as glad can be to hear that Dorothy came to stay for Christmas - - I know she must have loved it and at the same time don't you think it gives her a chance to prove that your faith in her was justified? A fine girl, thats for sure!

III And now I must dash off a note to Jim -- in his letter of Dec. 22, he told me of your organizing Friends of SDG and he closed with the bes thought of all which has been echoed so many many unocuntable times I'M SURE and i repeat it now. Thank God for Miriam Van Waters

Love Always, John

II I had a very good Christmas. PLENTY of "goodies" plus toilet articles, reading material and all the little things that can be used here -

Also PLENTY of cards, mail, and visits from Brother & Sister (three visits this week) And when the pictures are developed i'll have PLENTY of photo's of all the clan, cousins around the Christmas tree - - which is LOVE! SO - i'll still be getting the Best and enjoying many of the Benefits of Christmas for weeks to come.
