Dear Miriam, Its awful -- the way I take so long to answer, or at least acknowledge, your beautiful letters.

I had a swell visit with brother Francis yesterday and got all the latest family news. His son and his son's sweetheart, whom you've met, set the wedding day for November. Rita, my brother's wife, who happens to be the best seamstress for many many many miles around, will make the wedding gown for Terry Maude.

Jim writes regularly and things are going well there. Hes extremely busy, and loves it, particularly because of how well SDG is going and the support the program is recieving. As you know, he will see the Board, again, this year on March 8, andhis chances are better than they were last year. My brother Francis and his wife are writing to the Board Chairman Mr Mc Cormack for an interview, at some time which will be convenient to them, prior to March 8th. Jim will live with them on Cedar Street, Framingham .....

Hoping this finds you in your usual Very Good Health and Spirits. Much Love, Always John

[left] Dearest Miriam,

It was wonderful, as usual, to receive your beautiful letter of the 20th. I'm glad you sent it on an MDA letterhead, its EXTREMELY well done, the format. I compared it with the 1964 letterhead.

I've seen Mr. Cappeletti on TV in conjunction with the MDA - - - And, of course I never miss him when he is on TV playing his GREAT brand of professional football. He is a champion and a record holder -

And its very nice to see such Wonderful supporters as Mrs (how does she do it) Thomas and the truly sweet and wonderful Mrs. Marcin, listed-. What a team you've got!

On Friday I received a copy of the January issue of Concord's "OUR PAPER" and I loved So VERY much Jim's words on the "water doctor" enough to make my eyes water.

I received a nice letter from my attorney Bill O'Halloran over a week ago and he said that on Feb. 20th he'll file his BRIEF with the Circuit Court of Appeals and that it

[left] appears the case will be up for ORAL argument sometime in April. he adds that were we to be unsuccessful there and in the Supreme Court - - - - We have the FRATUS ISSUE to pursue and possibly the unresolved new evidence (a previously presented issue in Superior Court) issue.

These last couple of snowstorms, coming as they did, on week-ends foiled my usual Sunday visit because Kerry handles a snowplow and cannot leave ThAT during such terrible weather. However, I will see him (and possibly Anna from Dorchester) on Sunday the 6th if it doesn't SNOW.

I'll be in touch with you soon again.

Loved your beautiful letter of the 4th. Yes, Anna and Francis visited with me on Sunday the 6th and i expect they will be in again on the 13th. He tells me all about the M.D.A., and its easy to see how proud he is, and humble, to meet and know such Wonderful Wonderful people as those he and Rita have met thru M.D.A.- And yes! you are there during our visits.

The hearing in April will be at the Federal Building where i had a prior hearing in Sept., in which Anna, Rita (my sister) and Francis all testified. So, Francis is very familiar with 'where to go and how to get there' RE: that Court, and, God willing, you'll all be there to hear the presentation of Bill O'Halloran.

What pleases me Very Much is: that you do KNOW my spirit is as my faith and i do have the faith!

Yours of the 22nd arrived in good time from Dorset- a very pleasant surprise because i hadn't expected to hear from you during your brief stay with your great friend Helen Bryan. Yes - ive read her book "Inside" and i can still see the place - she drew such a perfect word picture.

I hope you came away from Vermont, well rested!
