with $14.00. Two dollars of it is George's. He is going to give me $6 per wk. until he has $20 to pay for the 2nd part of his National Board Exam. There are 3 partsPart 1 - $20. he has passed, Part 2 - $20. he takes in July, and Part 3 - $40 he takes in Dec. and then the Army in Jan. We get along much better now, and he is more attentive, but nothing will come of it. He is going to have a terrific struggle to get started in the [V.S.?], but he doesn't realize it yet. Even trying to get part time work now for him now is hard, not being a citizen.

I miss you very much and it does good even to see you for a few seconds as I did last week.

Respectfully, Barbara

Miss Kelley [P W?]

Dear Mrs. O'Keefe:

I don't know whether it is correct to address my monthly letter to just one member of the Parole Board or not, but I will do it this way unless you tell me otherwise.

I am still at 86 Marlborough st. but hope to find a less expensive room in the vicinity soon where I can have a kitchinette. As soon as I do I will get in touch with you. I will have to buy a small steamer trunck to move in as I have no suitcases at all. If my mother has her $5 automobile stamp by then her husband will move me otherwise I will have to take a taxi and pay the manfor carrying the trunck, etc.

I am still at the Copley

Plaza as Hostess in the Oval Room and like it very much. I have joined the Union also. There are a few problems connected with the work, but I think eventually they will straighten themselves out. I have to take a 2 wks vacation without pay Aug 23 - Sept 6. As yet I have made no plans.

I have started a small savings account at the 1st. Nat Bank this week with $17 to start. I plan to save some each week. Dr. Vash is having me bank his money also as he has to save to pay $40 for the 2nd part of his National Board Exam. I still see him regularly, but no plans for the future as yet. I go to Communion every Wed. at 12.10 P.M. at Trinity Church. Please let me know how you all are and if this letter is all right.

Respectfully, Barbara Brown

Dear Dr. Van Waters:

It was such a surprise to get your lovely letter last week. I appreciate it very much.

I have moved as you probably have heard by now. I am now at 123 Commonwealth Ave. I like it very much. It is smaller than the other place, but so is the rent. It is only $6.00 a week.

It is Lars Andersons former home. I can cook here and use the refrigerator too and I had no such convenience at the other place for $10 a week. This is a great saving for me since Income Tax puts such a hole in my budget. I am saving regularly $5 one week $10 the next alternately.

Thank you for your invitation to use Hill-Top. I am very eager to be up there again but I am afraid Sun. is the only day I could go up and that is the day the family use it most is it not? I have only Sundays off.

I forgot to tell you that I was very surprised to learn that Miriam Rand has moved into the room I vacated. I have never seen her though.
