Dear Dr. Van Waters,
I am writing to thank you for the great priviledge of letting me go to the Evans Memorial Hospital for a week. I appreciate it very much.
Could you please, consider letting me go home for the day to see my Aunt and Grandfather? I'd like to go with Miss Bowman. If you will let me go this once, I'll never bother you again about my work. I'll be satisfied to stay in my present employment until I leave here.
Hoping you will consider this request. I'll be waiting for an answer from you.
Yours Sincerely,
Marie Cosgrove

Dear Dr. Van Waters: -
Wishing you a Victory and apology from the Commissioner of Correction real soon. It's a crime that anyone who has work so hard and sincere should be subjected to what you have. You have not been just someone in authority, but a friend to each and every woman who has been in your custody. You have treated each one as an individual with love and understanding. I speak as one who knows having had the misfortune of having been at one time in your custody I saw the kindness you extended each and everyday.
