About

The purpose of this project is to carry out research focused on the ethnohistory of the religions of the Coahuilteco-speaking indigenous people who lived in southeastern Texas and northeastern Mexico, in the current Mexican states of Coahuila and Nuevo León, during the colonial period (18th century). This project proposes to carry out a methodological approach that will include philology, hermeneutics, ethnohistory of religions, and ethnography to explore the prevalence of the Coahuilteco culture and identity today on both sides of the border.
