expenditure for labor on the grounds, and added to the " "Proprietors Fund" the gross amount of sales of lots (after deducting the payment made to the Horticultural Society) and the income arising from investments. -
It in consequence appears that this fund is increased the last year by the sum of $4088.98, while only $2527.20 are added to the available means of the Corporation.
The amount in the Treasury with the collection of the present month will be adequate to meet the remaining assessments payable on the four shares in the Stark Mills.
The sum invested when these ass'ts are paid, will amount to Twelve thousand two hundred dollars. -
The number of lots sold during the year is forty six and the whole number sold is Six hundred thirty four. The following statement reported by the Superintendent shows the number of Interments & the improvements made during the year & also in the seven years since the consecration of the Cemetery, to wit.

Mount Auburn Cemetery. _ The annual Meeting of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn will be held on at the Room of the Horticultural Society in Boston to make choice of a board of Trustees to act on the report of the Treasurer, and to transact any other business which may legally come before the said meeting.

Pursuant to the above notice the Proprietors of the Cemy. of Mount Auburn met at the time & place & place mentioned in the said notice, which was published in one or more newspapers printed in Boston seven days before the time of meeting.
The Honorable Samuel T. Armstrong was chosen President Pro teme. the President of the Corporation being absent. George T. Curtis was chosen Secretary Pro. teme the Secretary of the Corporation being absent.

Pursuant to notice to that effect issued by the Secretary, the Trustees of the Pros. of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn met at the Secretary's office on Present Messrs Bigelow, Bond, C. P. Curtis, B. R. Curtis, Parker, & Story.

The Trustees proceeded to choose by ballot a President, Treasurer & Secretary.

Hon. Joseph Story was chosen President having received a unanimous vote for that office.
Treasurer.
