Receiving Tomb.

Voted. That the Treasurer be authorized to make such arrangements in regard to the removal of bodies from the Receiving Tomb as he shall think best.

Present at this adjourned meeting Messrs Bigelow, Bond, B. R. Curtis, Reed & Story.

Trustees

The Trustees of the Proprietors of the Cemetery met pursuant to notice, at the house of Benjn A. Gould Esqr on the

Present Messrs Bigelow Bond, Brimmer, B. R. Curtis, Gould & Parker.

Rev. Mr. Stearns

Voted. That the Trustees do not feel at liberty to comply with the request of the Revd Mr Stearns of Cambridge Port to give a Lot in the Cemy. for the purpose by him designated

Proprs of small lots.

Voted. That the Pros. of Lots of less than three hundred feet in the Cemetery may have the privilege of admission to the Cemetery on the same terms as other proprietors.

Trees.

Voted. That Messrs Gould & Brimmer be a comee to enquire & report whether any trees have been improperly removed from the Cemetery by any person.

Voted. To adjourn. A True record attest Bn R. Curtis Secy.

Trustees

Pursuant to the notice issued by the Secretary the Trustees of the Pros. of the Cemy of Mount Auburn met at the House of Geo. Bond Esqr on Present Messrs Bigelow, Bond, Brimmer, Parker & B. R. Curtis.

Treasurer.

Whereas in the treasurer transferred to himself as Treasurer three shares in the Amoskeag Manufacturg Co. as collateral security for a sum of money then due from him to the said Proprietor, of the Cemy of Mount Auburn, & being in the hands of the Mercantile firm of Whitwell Bond & Company which sum of money has now been paid

Voted That the retransfer by the Treasurer of the said shares be & the same is hereby confirmed.

Monument to Thos G. Fessenden

Whereas certain members of the Masstts Horl Society & others are desirious to erect a monument in the Cemetery to the memory of the late Thomas G. Fessenden & whereas the Members of the Mass. Hor Society are understood to be desirous that a Lot in the Cemy should be granted for that purpose,

Voted That the Comee on Lots be authorized

to assign a Lot for the erection of such a monument

The following motion was made by Mr Parker -

Gifts of Lots prohibited - see next page

Whereas the condition of the Cemetery is now such as to render it inexpedient to make gifts of any lands to induce persons to erect monuments thereon to public or distinguished individuals, therefore voted that the Corporation will make no further gifts of land for such purposes. Voted. To lay this motion on the Table.

Brattle Square Society.

An application of Mr Bond in behalf of a committee of the Society in Brattle Square was also laid on the table.

Pursuant to notice issued by the Secretary the Trustees of the Pros of the Cemy of Mount Auburn met at the office of the Secre tary on Friday Present Messrs Bigelow, Bond, Brimmer, C.P. Curtis, B.R. Curtis, Parker, & Reed. The following preamble & vote were passed.

Monuments To Dr. Bowditch and Noah Worcester

Whereas at a meeting of the Trustees held at the Porters Lodge in the Cemy. on the the assent of the Trustees was obtained to the appropriation of a Lot in the Cemy. for the erection of a monument to Dr. Bowditch & of another Lot to the erection of a Monument to the Rev.d Noah Worcester

Voted. That the Commee on Lots are authorized to assign Lots for those purposes.

Grants of Lots. none gratuitous

Voted. To take up Mr Parkers motion made & laid on the table at the last meeting

Voted. To amend the said motion by striking out the word "gifts" & inserting "gratuitous appropriations."_ Voted. To pass the motion. Voted. To take up Mr Bond's application made at the last meeting which was as follows:

Monument to J.S. Buckminster

To the Trustees of the Pros. of Mt. Aubrn Gentlemen. The undersigned in behalf of a Commee appointed by the Standing Comee of the Society in Brattle Square propose to erect a monument or Cenotaph at Mount Auburn to the memory of the late Joseph S. Buckminster The funds will be raised by subscription among the Parishioners & other friends

of Mr B & the comee ask your aid so far as to grant a suitable Lot, provided a structure will be raised that will be an ornament to the grounds & the comee agree to execute the Trust committed to them in a manner satisfactory to your Board Boston Signed Yr Obt Servt Geo Bond
