October 18th Met and performed and adjourned as usual. (debate Hady Waldo, Porter, Stearns, Allen Davison) Voted that Mr Albott be again admitted as a member of the Society.

Voted. That all the new bye [sic] laws and additions of the Constitution be accepted (except the 6th Article of the bye laws) which be laid aside for further consideration. (Mr Perkins, Mr Hitchings, Mr Davison signed as Members of the Society)

October 25th Met performed and adjourned as usual (debate Thayer & Albott) (debate (written) Allen & Hitchings Voted, that Mr Stevens be considered as a candidate to join the Society Voted that Mr Waldo and Mr Pratt be dismissed from the Society and that Mr Thayer be appointed to present to them in behalf of the Society a vote of thanks, Voted, that the meeting commence at 6 oclock.

November [date missing] . Met and performed Voted that all the seniors in the society be honourably dissmissed [sic] Voted that Brother Perkins be Librarian Voted that the 6th article of the new Bye [sic] laws be taken and entered (adjourned)

November [date missing]. Met and performed Voted, that a case for Books be got, and paid from the treasury of the Society Voted, that Feaning, Mackie and Foster be considered candidates to join the Society adjourned as usual.

December 7th Met according to adjournment, and performed. Voted that on account of the number of the Society being so small that the meetings should be postponed until the society agree that there is a sufficient number to make the meetings advantageous to ourselves. Voted that the money remaining in the treasury be equally among the present members of the society after fifty cent being deducted to be paid to Mr Hutchings

18.

Voted that each member should take a portion of the books in the library to keep until the President should call a meeting.

Feb 6th Met by the request of the president. Voted that all the books belonging to the library be returned Voted that Mr Avery, Golden, Abbot, Stintson, Leonard, Foster, Swift, McDonald be considered as candidates to join the Society. Voted that Perkins be authorized to give them an invitation. Adjournment until next friday evening, six oclock.

Feb 9th Met according to adjournment Voted that William Hadley be President, NH Thayer Vice president, James Hadley Librarian. Voted thanks be returned to Mr Charles Fearing for the generous present to the Society of three Vols. Adjourned until the first Friday evening of the next term half past six oclock.

adjourned according to statement in and of Book or near the end - which has not been heard of since by anyone 1834 NH Thayer. That is false. It was heard of and planed [sic] in the archives of the 1853 Soc. a rare production.

March 1st 1827 Met and performed two debates and composition Voted that Mr Dodge and Mr Masland stand as candidates to join this society Voted that two members be appointed at the close of each meeting to bring questions (for subjects of debates) and present them the eve following that which they are appointed (chosen this eve Mr Davison and Mr Stevens) Voted that the meetings henceforward commence at 7 oclock Voted, that watts and Mason 0.0.!! be purchased by the treasurer to be added to the library

The questions debated this eve were 1st written (Do females possess minds as capable of improvement as males) affirmative Thayer and Lamard (absent) negative Mackie and Foster 2d extemporaneous (would the freedom of slaves be beneficial to our country) affirmative Hadley negative Davison, the former in favor (decided) of affirmative latter negative, adjourned.

March 8th met and performed as usual 2 debates declamation and compositions.

Voted - that a prompter be appointed each evening. Written debate. Is an extensive condition calculated to produce more pleasure than wealth. Extemporaneous - Is the condition of the monarch happier than the beggar 1st in favor of negative latter in favor affirmative William Allen and JB Hadley appointed to bring in questions (next meeting)

Mar 16 Met and performed as usual. Voted. that Mr. &. be considered candidates to join the Society Voted, that Thayer buy Boston orations of Mr Elliot

Mar 21st met and performed as usual Voted Mr H and Mr T be excused from their offices. Mr Davidson chosen President Mr Bradley Vice President Voted that the library hours be from 12 to 1 instead of 1 to 2
