November 1919
Sunday 9
Turned out just in time for breakfast at 10am, a medical inspection was held (Scabies & V.D.); after inspection I went down below and read until noon. Dinner not up to much in fact it seems as though the food is getting worse every day one consolation is that we have not far to go now. At 3pm the W. Australians paraded in S.D. for pay & inspection as they have to disembark tomorrow on our arrival. Tea not up to much - heavy pudding. Played cards until supper time. Up to 7pm boat did 75 knots.

FIRST SIGHT OF AUSSIE.
Monday 10
Kangaroo Island Sth Australia sighted at dawn. About 9.30am all men from London to Adelaide brought on deck ready to be put ashore. Expect to arrive Adelaide about 2pm. About 4pm drew into Port Adelaide tremendous crowd awaited us & gave great reception, about 9pm after the S.A. had disembarked we went ashore for three hrs & were entertained by the action of Port Adelaide. After supper & concert we returned aboard ship & left again at midnight. Great nbr of troops missed the boat. Posted letter to Mater & Marie.
