19 Columbia February 27th 1893 Town Council met at the Town Hall, Mayor C P Hutchinson presiding, with the following councilmen present Sullivan, Bond, Hellenthal, Willacy & Voland The minutes of the last meeting was read and on motion approved. Ordinance No 18 "fixing the amount to be paid for license to sell Malt or Spiritous Liquors, Wine Ale, etc., and providing the manner in which the same shall be issued" was read and after being corrected was passed by the Council and approved by the Mayor. Motion made and carried to empower the Water Committee to confer with the Columbia House Company in regard to their water system and they are authorized to bid n ot to exceed $500.00 for the same. A petition was read for a Public Telephone to be placed in the Post Office or Town Hall and onmotion was laid onthe table indefinately. On motion Councilman Hellenthal, Willacy & Sullivan were appointed a committee to be called the Health Committee and the Attorney insturcted to draw an ordinance for same. Motion made and carried to adjourn to meet Monday March 6th 1893 Approved March 8th 1893 B R Shaw clerk C P Hutchinson mayor

20 Columbia March 2nd 1893 Town Council met at the K of P Hall by special appointment to discuss the Water works system, Mayor C P Hutchinson presiding, with the following councilmen present Sullivan, Bond, Hellenthal, Voland & Willacy Mr. Edmiston made a proposition in behalf of the Columbia House Co. to sell the Water system and all rights connected with the ame, with the priveladge to run pipes across their acre of land for the sum of $1250. After discussion it was moved and carried to lay the same on the table until next Monday night March 6th Motion made and carried to adjourne to meet next Monday night, March 6th 1893 Approved Maarch 13th 1893 B R Shaw clerk C P Hutchinson mayor

21 Columbia March 6th 1893 Town Council met at the Town Hall, Mayor C P Hutchinson presiding, with the following councilmen present Hellenthal, Willacy & Bond The minutes of the last meeting was read and on motion approved. The following Bills were read and on motin warrants were issued for payment of same. Bill from Standard Furniture Co. for chair & table $25.00 Bill from John Beatty for one map $32.00 Bill from Rainier Ave R R $.95 freight on Furniture Bill from Lowman and Hanford Stationery and Printing Co. for printing $88.00 Bill from D C Brown for 1&1/2 doz Dog Tags $1.50 Bill from Hepler Lumber Co, for lumber and Material for sidewalk $3.23 Bill from Seattle Telegraph for publishing petition for incorporation $39.40 Bill from Laurel Lodge No 76 K of P for rent of Hall 3 nights $2.50 Motion made and carried to accpet the proposition oftheColumbia House Co. to purchase their water system all rights for the sumof $1250. and the Attorney instructed to draw an ordinance to conform with the same. On motion Councilman Hellenthal was instructed to examine the water works and repair same. Motion made and carried to adjourne to meet next Monday night March13th 1893. 22 Columbia March 13th 1893 Town Council met at the Town Hall, Mayor C P Hutchinson presiding, with the following councilmen present Hellenthal, Voland, Willacy & Sullivan The minutes of the special meeting held on March 2nd, at the K of P Hall, were read and on motion approved. The minutes of the last meeting was read and on motion approved. A petition was presented and read to grade and sidewalk Columbia St from Noble St to Letitia St. On motion same was laid on the table for two weeks. On motion the Street Committee was empowered to have the grade established on Noble, Winston, Caldwell, Letitia, Rainier Ave, Americus, Augustine, Columbus, Ferdinand, Hudson Streets. and the proposed route to Lake Washington. On motion the door sill of the front door of the K of P Hall was selected as the starting point to establish the grade of the town and the Attorney instructed to draw an ordinance to the effect. A petition signed by 30 citizens for the reduction of or modification of Ordinance No16 (providing for a Dog tax) was presented and read and on motion same was laid on table until next meeting. Ordinance No 19 (relating to the Board of Health and otherwise to the keeping of the townin proper condition) read and on motion passed by the Council and approved by the mayor. 23 Columbia March 20th 1893 Council met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor C P Hutchinson presiding, with the following councilmen present Hellenthal, Voland, Sullivan, Bond amd Willecy The minutes of the last meeting was read and on motion approved. Ordinance No 24 establishing datum for the establishing of orders onf the streets and alleys of the town and on motionpassed by the council and approved by the Mayor. Ordinance No 21 relating to the repairing of sidewalks and crossings and providing for the payment of the costs of the same by assessment against property owners, read and on motion passed by the council and approved by the mayor Ordinance No 22 providing for the grading of streets and for the payment of same, read and on motion laid on the table until next meeting. the petition relating to the Dog Tax was taken up and after discussion it was moved and carried to question the ordinance as passed. Council Voland, Sullivan, Bond and Hellenthal voting for and Councilman Willancy against the same, Motion made and carried to adjourne to meet Monday March 27th 1893 B R Shaw clerk Approved Mar 27th 1893 C P Hutchinson
