Inclosed you will receive a receipt for some accounts handed me by Col. Davie, for the benefit of the Trustees of the University. (Very unfortunate) several of these persons, nothing can be had. Dolvin has long since moved to Georgia, believe Nichols also Macon is dead and left no property, and have not found Giffin the others has promised to pay, should the inclosed Recpt not be sufficient I will give another be so obliging as rite me as soon as you may Receive this as I may be certain.

This Indenture made this fourteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousdand seven hundred and ninety four, between Robert Cobb of the County of Chatahm and state of North Carolina of the one part and Frances Jones of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Robert Cobb, for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds ?? to him in hand paid before the ensialing?? and deliverring this presents, the receipt whereof the said Robert Cobb, bereby acknowleg himself fully satisfied and contented therewith and conformed by these presents do make over to the said Francis Jones his heirs Exts. Adm. and assigns forever one certain trust or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Chatham and State of aforesaid containing two hundred and twenty four acres for the same more or less and bounded as followeth. Beginning on Jeams Kirbys corner tree, turning West to a red oak, thence North to the ?? of the branch, thence up the branch near the head, thence up a small vallice to the ?? path to the head, thence the same course to a stake at the East and West line, thence East to Jeams Kirby's line thence along the said line South to Ervins Branch, thence down the branch to Bush Creek thence up the said Creek to the beginning. Continuing, two hundred and twenty give acres, or the same more or less together with all ?? and services thereof together with all rights and titles interest property claims, and demands whatsoever, of him the said Robert Cobb, his heirs Exs. admins, and assigns and each of them to every part and parcel thereof to him and to hold the said land and premises abov mentioned and part and parcel thereunto belonging to the said Jones his heirs, Exs. adms. and assigns forever in fee simple and cleare and clarely incombrances whatsoever, and that I the said Robert Cobb, will warrant and ever deferred him the said Jones his
