A cloudy day and rain tonight. Ben went to the mill. Jim is at Chatham this evening. Ben went to Jim Powers to see the children tonight. There was to be a lecture at the school house. Henry went. He has not come home yet. Carrie and the little children come. I was glad. She made bread for our supper. Guess Bulah was married today. I sowed some on my quilt. Ben heard from Josie. She is getting on ok I hope.

A rainy day. Ben went to Gretna for Jim. Come by Johnson and got some beef. Ben & Jim and Marvin has gone hunting to night. Franklin and I staid at home all day. I finished joining a quilt to night. Ben heard from Josie to day. She said that they would let her sit up some today.

A good day. Ben went to help Oscar a bout his car. Jim cleaned the hog pen. They both worked on tobacco some this evening. Jim has gone to Marvins to tie tobacco tonight. Ben went to Mr Powers to see the children and all the others. Henry went to school. We had quite a washing here to day. This morning Hattie Gilbert and I washed until twelve. Then Bettie Haley and Schooler [?] come. They washed some. I am glad that it is done. Ben heard from Josie today. She is able to sit up. I do hope she may soon be so she can come home.

A bright colde day. Ben and Jim stripped tobacco. They eat dinner at Marvins. Franklin staid with Aunt Carrie. Reese and Henry and I went to Worshams Pond. I wish I had staid at home and worked. Ben heard from Josie. She wants to come home Monday. Mrs Car and the little children are at Jim Powers. I will be glad when they come home. Earl Booker come with us on the car near Lees home. She was going to John Emersons to a party tonight.

A bright colde day. Jim staid at home all day. Ben went to Mr Powers and brought Mrs Car and the children home then went to Gretna and will go to Charlot and bring Josie home we hope. Kate Harvey come a little while. Carrie and Marvin went to Jim Thomsons. Joel & [?] Birch was there. Virginia Wooding stoped here and played with Edna a while this evening. The children here has bad coldes.
