Thursday, November 25, 1920

Thanks giving day. A very day. Jim stripped tobacco. Ben helped Owen kills hogs this morning. Jack Harvey and Mary B come this morning. They did not say goodby to me but I excuse them. Mrs Wooding and the little children come to see Josie. I went to Marvins a few minutes. Jim & Ben and Henry hung up some tobaco to night. Have finished hanging tobacco 8 oclock. Josie has just tried her new dress on. It fits fine. I think she is pleased with it. Henry is [?] a bout a pen point. 8 oclock

A good day. Jim and Ben & Marvin stripped tobacco all day. Henry cut some wood. Carrie come a few minutes. This morning Mrs Owen sent me some meat. I cooked some of it for dinner. Ella Hubbard come this evening. Jim Power come with her. He did not stay but a few minutes. Mrs Owen sent me some sausage to night. I was glad to get it. Jim and Ben did not strip tobacco to night.

Saturday, November 27, 1920

A cloudy day. Rain this evening. Ben and Jim finished stripping what tobacco they intend and put it in the pit. Ben hauled a load of wood this morning and I am glad. Mrs Car and Ella Hubard and Josie shelled some beans to night. I help a little tonight. Marvin Smith lost a check today. I do hope he may find it yet. I got dinner. Killed a chicken, made apple dumplings. Josie made a nice salid.

Sunday, November 28, 1920

A very rainy day. Mrs Hubard could not go home on account of the rain. I got dinner. All of the folks was at home. Seemed to enjoy dinner. Mrs Car and I did not go down to supper tonight. I wrote Effie a letter to day. Jim went to see John Hutcherson this morning a bout carrieing his tobacco. Jim went to Marvins this evening. I wanted to go but the weather was so rough I could not go.

A cloudy bad day. No rain. Ben carried Ella Hubard to Cedar Forest. Franklin went with him. Jim & Ben loaded John Hutchersons truck with tobacco this morning. Jim went with him to South Boston. Mollie Reynols come this morning. She lost her spectacles on her way here. She went part of the way back and found them. She stoped at Carries. Edna and I went with her. Carrie was makeing the girls some aprons. Mr Dews come to see Mrs Car a bout moveing to her place that he rented [?]
