Tuesday, November 30, 1920

A very rainy day. Ben worked on his car this morning. Helped Marvin tie tobacco a while this evening. We are out of wood. Have not got any corn shucked. Jim come home from South Boston just as wet as could be. John Hutcherson got in the creek with his truck and hiered Edward to pull him out. I am sorry for Jim and cant help him and he would not let me if I could.

A good day. The land is as wet as it can be. Jim and Ben cut wood in the woods to day. The Owens stopped ]?] tobacco mans in [?] stripped tobacco. I got breakfast and milked & churned and got dinner. I cooked beans and potatoes. This evening I went to Marvins a while. Carrie was sewing for the little girls. Mrs Car and Josie shelled a lot of beans. Henry went to school. Henry got a letter from Evylin this evening. 9:30 oclock

A good day. Ben hauled some wood. Jim helped. Marvin striped tobacco all day and Ben & Jim went up there tonight to tie tobacco. Henry went to school. Some of the boys from school went to Gretna to play basket ball. Bettie Haley washed here today. Josie & Mrs Car finished shelling the white beans today. I ironed some and got dinner as usual. Cooked beans and potatoes.

A good day. Ben & Jim hauled and sawed some wood to day. Ben tied my calf this morning and carried her to the spring. We will put her in the shop when it rains. Mrs Car was sick this morning and suffered very much but is better tonight. I ironed some to day. Stewed pumpkin and killed a chicken. Henry did not go to school today. He had no shoes fit to wear except his Sunday best and it was so muddy he would of ruined them [?]

A cloudy day. Ben & Jim sawed wood this morning then Ben carried Mrs Car home. Come back and carried me to Mount Airy then they carried the disk home to Reynols then put the engine under shelter. Jim cleaned the hog pens and put down the seat box and made him a box to put his meat in when they kill hogs. Josie has bin like Josie of olde today. I am uneasy, so afraid she will do something that will hurt her. She has the baby tonight. Marvin and family went to church this evening. Ben bought Henry a pair of shoes to day. [?] rubber boots.
