A skiff of snow this morning. All gone tonight. Jim loaded the wagon with tobacco and started to Gretna. I hope he got there ok. Ben and Josie went to Jim Powers. Mrs Car did come with them home. They think now that they will go to Charlottsville in the morning.

Franklin is bad off with colde. Henry went to school to day.

Ben bought Edna a new pair of shoes today. Josie and I ironed some to day. I killed a chicken for dinner.

A cloudy day. Jim and Ben and Owen shucked some corn and toated stalk to the cows then stripped tobacco. Hattie washed some here today. Josie got dinner & supper.

Made a place for little chickens and mended some this evening. Josie went to Carries. I staid with the children. Annie and Ta??ie Doss come. Brought the suit case home. I have got a very bad colde. Hope it will be better soon.

I am so near a sleep that I cant write much.

A bad day. Rained morning and evening. Jim hung up the meat ready to smoke. Ben helped Marvin hang up his. Then they stripped tobacco the rest of the day. I got dinner. Killed a chicken and cooked beans. Josie made Edna a dress. She is proud of it.

Mr Sam Owen went to Gretna with his last tobacco. I was uneasy a bout the tobacco. So a fraid it would get wet. It solde very well and he got home about night. Henry and Edna went to school.

A good day. Jim and Ben burnt a plant bed. Jim finished the bed. Ben carried some chickens to Mt Airy for me and then started to Gretna. Was going to Danville tonight. Grace Brumfield went to Danville today.

John Tucker carried some tobacco for Ben & Lee today. Mr Owen carried his cows from here today. Josie ground the sausage and seasoned it. Today I made scrapple. I went to Marvins this evening. Henry and Edna went to school.

I sent 4 roosters and 4 hens to the store.

I have a rooster that John Smith raised. I am to pay three dollars for him.

A good day. Ben plowed all day with two horses. Jim plowed some in the garden and plowed for a potatoe patch. Tonight Jim & Ben and Henry has gone to Strait Stone.

Josie dressed a chicken and baked pies and got dinner this evening. She bathed the children and got supper.

Doris and Janie Brumfield come. I was glad to see the children.

Marvin went to Altavista. He got seed potatoes. Marvin and the children and Carrie went to Strait Stone. The preacher Mr Lee is there tonight.
