A good day. Cloudy tonight and a little rain. Jim & Ben plowed corn and cut off tobacco hills getting aready to plant tobacco. Mr. Owen carried Alice Thomson & children Mrs Thomson & I and Jane Reynolds to white falls. We did not catch many fish but had a good time. Mrs Car was with Josie. Carrie Reese and the little girls and Kate Harvey come a little while. Virginia H and Doris B come a a while. The children went to the Sulpher Springs. They had a good time Their teachers was with them. They had ice cream.

A good day. The Boys replanted Tobacco all day Ben went about [Sun?] to [R?] carried the three last children with him he left them at Kate Harveys and even to [G?]. He bought some fish we have dressed them it is now near midnight Josie has suffered a lot today Virginia has [?] here today/ She helped me a lot She ironed some and baked a cake The pen that I am writing with is a lead one and I can hardly see.

A good day. Jim + Ben finished scraping out their tobacco. This evening Ben carried Fletcher Car to Long Island. This evening I went and three of the children. I fished a little while. I stopped at Cedar Forest Creek. Caught two fish. Mrs Peak + Mrs Trent come with Ben up to Strait Stone.
Miss Willie Wooding come to see Josie this evening. Kate Harvey come to pick berries. She got some.
Henrys nose has bin bleeding to night. I hope it may quit soon.

A beautiful day The boys strpped tomacco Mr Booker helped them This evening Josie has been bad off all day. Mrs Booker cooked and brought her dinner She eat what she could and was glad of it. Kate Harvey come to see me today I was very glad that she come. Etta Gilbert helped me was dishes this morning Kate washed them at dinner and Henry helped me tonight I had the longest nest this evening that I have had this year Kate churned I worked the butter and ???nted it The children went to school Harvey got in wood and Edna brought water. Franklin wont work if he can help it
Monday, January 8, 1923
A good day. The men stripped tobacco. Grace staied all night. She walked part of the way home. Kate Harvey come and staid with us most of the day. Demia? Blair come a while. Nellie come home today. We were all glad that they all come.
Jose has been bad off all day.
John Ward wife come here this morning (colored people). She carried some clothes home to iron. Etta Gilbert come. She washed dishes and swept the floor for me. I sent some butter to Elise East today. Hope she may sell it for me.
