Saturday, September 20, 1919
A good day. Jim & Ben hauled up a little corn. Jim hauled some rails and made his hog pen larger, then they stripped tobacco. Mr. Owen finished a cureing to day.
Josie and I commenced to wash. Josie got sick and had to quit. I finished. They got dry. Josie ironed some this evening.
Johnson Reynolds passed here this evening at work on the phone line.

Tuesday, September 23, 1919
Cloudy most of the day and some rain.
Jim & Ben stripped tobacco the most of the day.
Mr. Owen went to the island for guano. William Gilbert (col) went for Kate Harveys guano with Marvin Smiths team.
Jim B is helpin Henry with his lessons. Ben has gone possum hunting.
Josie made Edna some under pants to day.
I went this evening and got some sweet potatoes and washed them ready to cook. I ironed some this morning. Josie got most of the dinner.
Ben found Mr. Owens cow with a little calf to day.

Wednesday, September 24, 1919
A beautiful day. The men stripped tobacco until dinner then they loaded the waggon ready to start to Gretna in the morning. John Hutcherson loaded his truck for Marvin. They are going to Danville.
Josie got the dinner.
Henry and Edna went to school. I ironed some this morning and mended some things this evening.
Jim ask me to wake him at three in the morning.

Saturday, September 27, 1919
A good day. Ben worked on his car most of the day. I ironed some & got a snack for dinner. Josie was sick this morning.
Just at night to day Lizzie Bennett and Faber and Ola Jefferson come. They had bin to a picknick at Whittles. They brought enough things already cooked for our supper and even some of the things was for Carrie.
I made my supper of what they brought and did enjoy it. Ben amd Faber went where they some one was hunting but did not stay long. I am so glad to hear that Brother Letcher is improving some. Hope he may get well a gain. I am glad that Lizzie and the children come.

Saturday, November 1, 1919
A clody day and it is raining tonight. Jim is in Chatham. Ben sowed some wheat and oats today. Mr. Owen stripped tobacco today.
Josie got dinner. We picked up the potatoes this morning and Ben hauled them home this evening.
Bessie Callens (col) washed some & ironed. Anna Callens come to see a bout Bess being here. She let her stay.
I had thought that I would start to Richmond in the morning but it is raining so that I doubt it now.
Ben & Henry & Lucious Gravely went hunting tonight. Guess they will get wet.
