Trustees. No Quorum.

A meeting of the Trustees of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn, was holden at the office of the

Secretary in Boston on Present Messrs Bond, Brown, Reed & C.P. Curtis, & a quorum of the board not being present it was voted to adjourn the meeting to Monday next at 4 oclock P.M. at the same place.

Notice - annual meeting. 1835.

Mount Auburn Cemetery The annual meeting of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn, will be held on at the Rooms of the Horticultural Society, in Boston, to hear the report of the Treasurer, to determine whether the bye-law fixing the time of the annual meeting shall be altered & to act on any other business to which may legally come before the said Proprietors at the annual meeting. Proprietors.

Pursuant to the above notice, which was published more than seven days before the time of meeting in the Boston Daily Advertiser, & Boston Atlas, two newspapers printed in Boston, the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn met at the time & place therein designated, & the meeting was called to order by the President.

It was thereupon:

Voted. That when this meeting adjourns, it shall be adjourned to this place on the Voted. That the Secretary cause a notice of the time & place of the adjourned meeting to be published in three daily papers at least one week before the meeting.

Adjournment.

Voted. That this meeting be now adjourned. Attest B.R. Curtis Secy.

Pros. Meeting

Monday .

Pursuant to the vote passed at the last meeting the Props of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn met this day at eleven oclock A.M. at the Rooms of the Horticultural Society in Boston. The President of the Corporation being absent, the meeting was called to order by the Secretary, & thereupon it was voted. To choose a chairman pro tem.

Chairman.

Voted That the chairman be chosen by being nominated by any member present & Confirmed by the meeting. Voted. That Dr. Z. B. Adams (who was so nominated) be chairman. Voted. That this meeting be now adjourned to the first Monday in February next, & that the Secretary give notice of the time & place of Meeting by publishing the same at least

Trustees

. Pursuant to notice the Trustees of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn met at the house of George Bond Esqr, the Treasurer, at 7 oclock P.M.; Present Messrs Bigelow, Read, Brown, Gould, Bond, & Curtis.

Chairman.

Dr. Bigelow was chosen chairman, the President being absent.

Treasurers Report

The Treasurer then submitted to the Trustees his annual report, which being read by the Secretary it was

Mass. Hort. Society

Voted To accept the same & that he be authorized to settle with the Mass. Hor. Society in accordance therewith.

Voted. That when this meeting adjourns, it shall be adjourned to Monday next at half past ten o clock at the office of the Secretary.

Price of Lots.

Voted. That from & after the ^& until further notice the price of Lots shall be eighty dollars for three hundred square feet & after the same rate for any greater or less quantity; and that the Secretary give notice of the above change in the price of Lots in the Cemetery by publishing this note in three newspapers printed in Boston, as often as he shall think expedient.

Proprietors

Horticultural Rooms.

Pursuant to adjournment the Proprietors met at the abovenamed time & place, were called to order by the Secretary & B.A. Gould Esqe was chosen chairman to preside at this meeting.

1836 Treasurers Report

The Secretary then read the report of the Treasurer which is as follows.

"The Treasurer begs leave to report, that since the annual meeting of the Mass. Horticultural Society in , when his last report was made, every debt due from the Garden & Cemetery Committee has been paid, & there remains in the Treasury, per certificate of the Auditor B.A. Gould Esqe the sum of $1,210.74 He further reports that the payments for the Mount Auburn Estate & improvements thereon, up to the 30th of June last, when the account for of the Garden & Cemetery Comee were closed, amount to the sum of $27,006.25; that the total number of Lots sold to the same date is 390 producing the sum of $26776.44, leaving a balance due from the Mass Horticultural Society to the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn of $1029.81. To this must be added some bills against the Garden & Cemetery Committee not yet received rendered, particularly one for an iron waggon, designed to transport stone within the grounds), which may amount together to $300, & of which a considerable portion is expected to be paid in Lots. Since the 30th of June 36 Lots have been sold, producing $2951.20

1836 Treasurer's Report

If therefore a settlement be made with the Horticultural Society at this time, they will be entitled to receive $305.34 per the following statement vis:

Balance of debts pays out of proceeds of sales per agreement 1029.81
Allowance for 6 mo. expenses 700.00
1/4 Balance payd to M.H.So. 305.34
3/4 Balance to be retained by Proprietors 916.05
___ 2951.20
The current expenses of the Proprietors for the six months ending 31st December exceed the amount allowed them by the sum of ten dollars 65/100($10.65).

Referring to the annexed trial balance of his Books the Treasurer asks the orders of the board in relation to a settlement with the Mass. Hor. Soy. . Signed Geo. Bond
