32 Cloudy and Rain Snow NE November Thursday, 6 1879 Snow, Hail and Rain last night Ernest left before breakfast. Thos: Leizear and Leanna Mitchell here for advice &c -

Clear 32 Friday, 7th S.W. Was called about day light to go to Mrs Scott's to Relieve her father - Went to Riverside (Charly Willie and I) and hunted "Milo" after "birds" for the first time. Went to see friend C Stabler and to Mahlou Kirk's to see his daughter Mary - Dora Rode to Brighton Charley went to "Musical" at [illegible]

Saturday, 8th 40 Cloudy SE Martha Bacon here for advice &c Afternoon went to Mecahnicsville to tinners. R I Lea here and had tooth out Mary Rounds here for advice and med: Sent medicine to Mary T Kirk -

45 Clear and Cloudy S.W. November Sunday, 9th 1879 Went to Alloway and Woodburn with Charley in little buggy - Frank Snowden here afternoon. Charley and Dora went to Lyceum to "Bible class" after tea.

63 Clear S.W Monday, 10th Beautiful "Indian summer" weather Boston spreading manure on lot. Afternoon took Harriet to call upon Mrs: E Lawford left "Milo" with Mr L - he having borrowed him for a time to hunt with. Douglass Miller called after tea.

Clear 55 Tuesday, 11th S.W. Rained some during last night but beautiful to day - Drove "Polly" to "Fulford" before dinner. A setter dog arrived pr stage for Mr Lawford: Afternoon went to Mahlon Kirk's Dora with me.

65 Cloudy, Windy and Showery E November Saturday, 15th 1879 Blustering disagreeable day - Louis Scofield and E Chalfant here Sent Willie to Ashton with money to pay note to C.G Porter: Walked up to Sandy Spring store.

65 Clear N.W. Sunday, 16th Charley and Willie went to "Highland" leaving home about sun Rise, home by about 9 o' clock a.m. after which C drove me over to "Woodburn". Wonderful doings at Mechanicsville church - Mifs Lucy Snowden to be "babtized". Afternoon C and I drove to "Colebrook" farm to see "Milo".

Clear 68 Monday, 17th N.W Beautiful day - Mrs Jno King here for advice &c I took D A R over to Mary Chandlee'd and left her there Afternoon Boston and I went in the "omnibus" to Jas: Powell's and got hot bed sash and one sash for stabler Ernest here in Evening - Shot an "oppossum" last night in the chicken coop. he had killed one and let the others out.

55 Rainy Cloudy and Windy S.E. November Tuesday, 18th 1879 Have head ache and feel badly - about home all day - fixed frame of hot bed in the garden -

Wednesday, 19th "Tinckered" about home Repairing locks &c &c - Cold and disagreeable -

30 Thursday, 20th Variable Snowing at sunrise and "squalls" of snow at intervals throughout the day: with very high wind amounting to a gale at times. Exceeingly disagreeable: about home all day - Charley went to Jas P Stabler's after tea to see about oats - He was not at home and Ride in cold for nothing -

19 Clear and Cloudy N.W. November Friday, 21st 1879 High N.W wind again - Sent Boston with the omnibus and horses to help Mrs Chalfant move her household goods to new house at Ashton - He also tried to haul us some wood from Henry Miller's place but the horses misbehaved and he left the wagon in the woods. Chas: went to "Musical" at E Gilpins takingg Mifs Alice Tyson - I worked at lining sleigh bells -

15 Saturday, 22d Clear N.W. Ernest staid last night. Cold cold this morning - Charley went and brought omnibus home. I drove to "Brighton" Richd Addison brought me one barrel of corn - Mr Eustice Lawford called.

35 Clear N.W. Sunday, 23d Had "quite a time" hunting Willie who had gone off skating. C and D took a Ride in little buggy. Charly went in the evening and took Maggie Tyson to the Bible class at the Lyceum. Dora and Willie also went -

33 November Monday, 24 1879 Went to Wm S Bond's and to Fred'k Stabler's. Called at Alloway to see friend C Stabler Ernest here in the Evening and we had some "practicing" of music.

Clear and Cloudy N.W. 38 Tuesday, 25th Went to Leawood Mills and got some "bread stuff" brought DAR home from "Homewood". Bro R brough Hannah C over to spend the night with us - Got small coal stove from Kate Stabler.

40 Clear Wednesday, 26th Cousin Hannah left for "Alexandria" in the late stage. Phineas Carol here to whitewash dining room and Kitchen. Fixed up stove in Doras room, also the one in the South Room. I went to Wm S Bond's. Sallie Coale arrived in the Evening Stage to pass the thanksgiving Holidays with us -

40 Clear and Cloudy S.W. November Thursday, 27th 1879 "Thanksgiving day" Suffered all last night with "tooth ache" or neuralgia Extracted the right "Eye tooth" for myself. Drove up to "Fulford" in little buggy. Granville Stabler brought me a load of lumber - 600 feet of 3/4 inch boards and some 1/2 inch stuff for "stripping"

4 Clear and Cloudy S.E. Friday, 28th Took Dora and Sally Coale in the "phaeton" to Mechanicsville. Afternoon Sally and Dora went (in little buggy) to call at "Olney". Rainy Evening -

44 Clear and Cloudy Windy Saturday, 29th About home all day - In Evening Sally Coale had quite a "spell" of pain &c - but Recovered after a time. Halter Scott called and played on the violin for us -

Clear and Cloudy November Sunday, 30th 1879 Charly, Dora and Sally Coale went to "meeting". Afternoon they drove over to "Riverside" and to "Olney" where they took tea. Charly and Willie went to the "Bible calss" in Evening - Sister Beulah called to see S. Coale before meeting time.

Clear N.W. 30 Monday, December 1st Sally Coale left for Balto: in the Early stage. I drove to "Riverside" in the little buggy - Edwd: Hill called

40 Clear Tuesday, 2d Beautiful day - Jno: Doutrey had tooth extracted. Afternoon I went to Harry Lea's and Riverside. Got "Milo" home Sent medicine to May T Kirk. Henry Miller here to practice with Charley - Remus Johnson got a load of manure -

49 Clear and Cloudy S.E. December Wednesday, 3d 1879 Gilbert T Smith and son here for advice and med for the latter I worked at Extending the shed or carriage house all the afternoon - Charley went in the evening to "Falling Green" to a sort of a musical party.

Clear and Cloudy 55 Thursday, 4th S.W. Worked at Cariiage house shed - Chas Powell here and had wounded hand dressed - Moab White here for advice and medicine Ernest handed a load of wood from Henry Miller's woods - Ellie Chadnlee and Alice Pierce here to dine - Louis Hill called and had tooth extracted. Charly went to a "Ball" at Grange Hall with Henry Miller -

Friday, 5th 47 Cloudy N.E. Made and hung doors to carriage house - burned brush and weeds. Eustace Lawford here and had sprained ankle bandaged -
