65 Cloudy and Foggy S.E. October Tuesday, 7th 1879 Uncle Henson here. I went to Brighton (to Horace P. Wilson's) and to Riverside home to dinner -

65 Cloudy (until noon) S.E. Wednesday, 8th Uncle Henson here all day - I drove over to Riverside afternoon William and Anna Parker took tea with us - Geo: Boston [illegible] here and I hired him by the month, to commence on Monday next. Phelps here from Howard Co: -

67 Cloudy until 10 a.m. S.E. NW Thursday, 9th Uncle Henson here - Rained last night a nice little shower - Drove over to Brighton home via Chandlee's saw mill - Charley went to Henry Chandlee's after tea with Jno Bentley and W Scott to "practice" did not get home until near mid-night.

68 Cloudy and Rainy S.E. October Friday, 10th 1879 Close disagreeable damp day warm ad mis summer - I staid about home all day Uncle Henson here

67 Cloudy N.E. Saturday, 11th About home except drove H in "little buggy" to Riverside and back before dinner - Cleaned up all the harness stables &c &c No one here to do the work but Willie and I

68 Clear and Cloudy N.E. Sunday, 12th Slept well last night. Charles and Dora went to meeting. C in the "little buggy and took Mifs Sophy Bremany from "Fulford" - C and Dora went to Riverside to tea.

63 Clear N.W. October Monday, 13th 1879 George Boston a colored man commenced work for us by the month: Frank Gilpin and W Parker called. Anna Parker called and had tooth extracted. Patty Stabler here with little Caleb for advice &c - I went to Ashton and Sandy Spring -

67 Clear Tuesday, 14th Rachael Baker here for advice and medicine. I went (in omnibus) to Leawood Mills and Riverside taking "Boston" and Willie with me. After tea Hallie Chandlee Nettie Faucett and Ed: Bentley here and spent the evening - Dora Rode on horseback to S Ellicotts with May Snowden

66 Soggy and Cloudy S.E Wednesday, 15th Almost Rain early this morning, cleared off about noon - I went to North Fulford and made a call - Mrs Louisa Painter here and had fish bone removed from her throat.

68 Clear S.W. October Thursday, 16th 1879 Still very warm - Drove to Chas: Stabler's in little buggy and afternoon to Fulford and "Bloomfield" to bid Anna and W Parker "good bye". Sophie [Pumpboey?] here and had tooth extracted

67 Clear S.W. Friday, 17th Wm and Anna Parker left for home R Addison here for advice for wife. Afternoon I took Dora to "Walnut Hill" to the last Archery Meeting. Loaned omnibus, "Betty" and harness to Frank Gilpin to take the N Fulford ladies. Chas: went for his sister after store hours - Butcher Hopkins here for advice and medicine -

Cloudy and Showery 68 Saturday, 18th S.W. Went to N Fulford to see Mrs: T Wm Scofield here and had toothe extracted.

Clear 32 Monday, 20th N.W. Went to Harry T Lea's and left him a little daughter born at 15 minutes before 1 - o' clock afternoon, weight 10 1/2 lbs: - Sister B spent day here. Harriet and Sister Mary walked to B R Robert's Edith Bentley called -

Cloudy and Rain S.E. 33 Tuesday, 21 Went to Riverside and Leawood Mills took sister Mary to Riverside Mary Snowden here for advice &c Charley went to N Fulford and spent evening. Kemp Bartlett came him with him to spend the night -

65 Rain E - October Wednesday, 22d 1879 Eliza Jopper here - I made and put up "hook Rests" for shovel and tongs in dining Room: tied up woodbine to front porch - &c Ernest called and left apples -

37 1/2 Friday, 24th N.W. Quite cold and windy. I went to R Addison's took Geo: Boston with me. C and Dora went to Laurel after dinner and brought home their grand mother: Cousin D Brown and Faid Paxson -

Clear 31 Sunday, 26th N.W. Drove to R Addisons' after noon Charley took Fred Paxson a drive Mechanicsville. Brookville. Crow Town. and Riverside and home to supper - Jun Jackson and Hannah Chandlee called also Ed: Bentley and Hallie C - All our "young folks" went to "bible class" in the Evening -

Monday, 27th Took cousin D Cook and Harriet to Fulford to call. Afternoon went to Fred: Stabler's to see Mifs M Pleasants - After tea had "String [illegible] Band here to practive -

47 Cloudy Windy and "Squalls" N.W. October Tuesday, 28 1879 Sister B called and took D Cook to "Homewood". Quite a hail storm about noon - Fred Paxson rode to Homewood to dine - Charly went in Evening to Brooke Grove to Chas: Brooke's "Reception" taking two Mifs Tysons - Clear Wednesday, 29th N.W. Took whole family except Chas: and Willie (in omnibus) to Riverside to spend the day - Brought D Cook home with us -

Thursday, 30th Took Harriet, Mother R and D Cook to Fulford to dine. Sent horses home by Boston who came after us bringing with him Dora, Willie and Edwd: all home by 4 - o' clock p.m - Bro R brought Sister M and M Chandlee there to meet us -

35 Clear and Windy N.W. October 35 Friday, 31st 1879 Took Harriet and Deborah Cook to "Woodburn" to dine with Aunt Eliza - Kirk. Ernest took tea with us - Charly went to Riverside after tea. Ernest Returned and spent the night with him.

Clear N.W. 30 Saturday, November 1st Went to Wm H Stabler's and paid his account against me $(27.04) to his daughter Ellen - Walker up to the store after tea. Charley unusually late getting home and to bed (11.30)

Clear and Cloudy 28 Sunday, 2d N.W. Charley drove over to Remius Dorsey's to see some corn fodder. Bro C. dined with us - Ernest and Charley went to Spencerville. Charly drove his sister up to Fulford. E Bentley called also Richd: Addison - Extracted tooth for Katy White -

28 Clear Windy N.W. November Monday, 3d 1879 Kate Stabler here for advice &c Family dinner company here in honor of Sister Mary's 60th birthday. Riverside, Fulford and Homewood all well Represented - Went to Alloway to see Caleb Stabler - Charly and Dora went to Riverside after tea -

Cloudy Windy 30 Tuesday, 4th Took Harriet and went to Brighton and afterwards went to "the Election" cold and disagreeable -

28 Clear N.W. Wednesday, 5th Cousin D Cook left for home in Early stage Bro C going with her to Balto: - Went to Albin Gilpin's before break-fast and Redweed [illegible] for him - Went to Alloway to see friend Caleb Stabler: also to see about fire wood
